National Service Scheme (NSS)
Motto: NOT ME BUT YOU
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored flagship for public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. It was launched in 1969 on Gandhiji’s Centenary. NSS aims to develop students' personality through voluntary community service.
The Konark wheel in the badge with 8 bars signifies 24 hours in a day, reminding the wearer to be ready to serve the nation at all times.
Red color symbolizes energy and spirit, while Blue color signifies the cosmos, with NSS as a part of it contributing to mankind’s welfare.
